Kayla and Ryan are now husband and wife! Photographing their wedding day was such an honor, after working with them for their romantic Ballantyne Resort and Beech Mountain engagement session! I couldn’t wait for their wedding day to arrive – almost as much as they couldn’t. They planned a stunning outdoor Charleston wedding day on John’s Island at The Island House. It was full of gorgeous details, and lots of burgundy and navy!!
Charleston Wedding Day on John’s Island
Every moment of Kayla and Ryan’s wedding day was beautiful. From meeting for a first touch (but not look!) on the steps of the Island House to their fireworks display in the evening… the surprises never stopped. Ryan and Kayla really created a unique experience for their guests – and for themselves. One of my favorite parts of their celebration was when the three of us escaped the reception a bit for portraits at sunset on a boat. It was a perfect way to get some quiet time… and amazing photos, too!
They ended the night dancing in the moonlight by their custom signs and with a firework send-off. A confetti toss with their guests was the last big moment of the night before I captured them on their getaway boat. Yes, boat – not car! They left their guests with delicious midnight snacks and drinks before ending their celebration.
Kayla and Ryan, thank you for allowing me to be a part of your love story. It has been a true honor capturing every moment of it. Thank you for trusting me to photograph your fun Charleston wedding day, too! I LOVED it!! I’m so so happy for you both! Congratulations!!
