A huge congratulations to Kayla and Ryan! Ryan planned a surprise proposal for Kayla under the premise of a girls’ night at the Ballantyne Hotel. It was the sweetest thing ever! I’m so happy that I was asked to capture their special moment – I love that this is my job, seriously!!! Kayla and Ryan are the cutest. I can’t wait to see them again for their wedding day next November. It’s going to be amazing. But for now… onto the proposal story!
Ballantyne Hotel Proposal
Kayla got to the hotel under the guise of a girls’ night, thanks to her mom. However, not long after she arrived, Ryan proposed. When Kayla and her mom arrived at the resort, Kayla headed towards the stairs and was immediately greeted with photos of her and Ryan along the staircase. With candles and rose petals, it was pretty obvious what was happening. She headed up the stairs and found a video playing of their love story. Then, Kayla walked outside to find Ryan standing in front of a gorgeous sign made by the incredible Jenny of Gathered Events and Design! It read “Will You Marry Me?” and Ryan was waiting with the ring. Surrounded by balloons from Confetti Castle, he popped the question once Kayla was up the staircase.
After the proposal, family and friends were gathered all ready to surprise them. It was so sweet! Once we could get them away from the “congratulations”, I enjoyed spending time with Kayla and Ryan around the resort as we captured those stunning just engaged portraits!! When we were done, it was time for them to spend the evening with their family and a day in the spa to be pampered.
I can’t wait to see you for your November wedding day, Ryan and Kayla – and I can’t wait to work with Jenny again!!
