Visiting Scotland | My Two-Week Trip to Scotland, part 1

I’m SO excited to be sharing this post with you! This summer, I had the privilege of traveling to Scotland for two weeks. Part of the trip was being a tourist with my parents and the second half was all about photography content with other creatives. It was truly the trip of a lifetime, huge shout out to Christina Hawkins of Discover the Details for helping us plan this incredible trip! During the first week of our trip to Scotland, we explored as much as we could together and her itinerary kept us busy!

Some of the places we visited in Scotland during our first week included….

Edinburgh

When we arrived in Scotland, we began our trip in Edinburgh. We explored the gardens and the castle. It’s such a beautiful little town!

Balmoral Hotel

St. Andrews Old Course

St. Andrews is a seaside town north of Edinburgh. It’s known for its many golf courses, including the Old Course, with the landmark Swilcan Bridge at the 18th hole. We also looked around the castle and grabbed lunch here. Definitely a beautiful spot to visit!

Blair Athol Distillery

Blair Athol Distillery is a distillery in Scotland responsible for creating delicious whiskey! It’s absolutely beautiful and fun stop to make if you’re here.

Culloden House

One of the quietest spots we visited was the Culloden House. It’s absolutely beautiful and you can just enjoy the views, the gardens, and 40 acres of tranquility. Learn more about this gorgeous house here!

Leanach Sheep Dog Farm

Fort George and Inverness

In the Highlands, we also visited Fort George and Inverness. Fort George is a large 18th-century fortress and we had the chance to tour this beautiful spots. Afterwards, we enjoyed the waterfront city of Inverness – full of gorgeous old buildings and lots to explore!

Jacobite Loch Ness Cruise and Urquhart Castle

We couldn’t go to Scotland without looking for Nessie! The three of us embarked on a fun Loch Ness cruise to look for her, and enjoy the views of the Urquhart Castle ruins.

Scottish Memories

The entire week of being a tourist was a blast. I’m so happy I had the chance to take my parents with me for this trip of a lifetime. Here’s a few of our other favorite moments!!
